About the author
I graduated from Balliol College, Oxford and worked in advertising before becoming a teacher.
I was Head of English at Radley College before moving to St Paul’s in London where I was Head of Sixth Form for many years.
As well as writing two novels, I have reviewed for The Oxford Times and Literary Review and have been an editor of The English Review.
Among my few claims to fame, I count playing football with Nick Hornby, having lunch with George Best, teaching members of Mumford and Sons and Noah and The Whale, giving Clare Balding interview practice, and nearly being recruited as a spy as among my most significant.
I live in Barnes in South-west London with my wife and we have two children.
